Seven Things Any Nonprofit Needs To Know About the 2010 Census

(This is the first of an ongoing series to provide tips and tools to nonprofits for getting the most out of their 2010 census involvement.)

The North Texas area receives over $8 billion in federal funding a year. These dollars are an important source of revenue for many local nonprofits and charities.

Communities served by nonprofits are at the greatest risk for being undercounted in the 2010 census.  Groups such as Hispanics, African-Americans, the elderly, the homeless, and the mentally ill and/or disabled represent the people most likely to be undercounted.
